In galleries and museums, visitors spend on average 27 seconds with each artwork, despite the rich knowledge behind them: curatorial insight, artistic technique, historical context, and human stories. Much of this remains confined to wall labels, catalogues, or specialist research that rarely reaches the public. This reflects not just a production issue, but a connection gap. Lumi addresses this by helping cultural institutions transform expert knowledge into accessible multimedia experiences, including short-form videos accessible in galleries, on mobile devices, or at home. Combining expertise in AI, software development, and the art and cultural sector, Lumi is designed to ensure technology enhances (rather than replaces) human connection with art and heritage.

  • Accessible by design with multimedia content supporting diverse abilities and learning styles
  • Multilingual, captioned content enabling inclusive access for diverse audiences globally
  • Captures and shares curatorial expertise as lasting educational resources.

Lumi combines advanced AI technologies with art research and curatorial expertise to create a purpose-built platform for cultural content creation. Using pre-configured templates and context-engineered instructions, it transforms static artworks into cinematic experiences through subtle animation and atmospheric visual effects. Large language models convert curator notes, catalogues, and scholarly research into engaging scripts, while voice technologies enable multilingual narration and varied tonal delivery. Built-in safeguards for, copyright, and cultural protocols ensure outputs remain accurate, respectful and culturally sensitive.

LUMI’s primary market are Australian and global cultural institutions. In Australia there are over 400 public galleries and 1,000 museums and over 55,000 museums and 95,000 galleries worldwide. Secondary markets include heritage organisations preserving local history, botanical gardens and natural history collections, universities with art collections, tourism and destination marketing bodies, cultural festivals, libraries, and archives.

Lumi offers partnering opportunities with cultural institutions, museums, and galleries to co-develop tailored digital storytelling solutions that enhance audience engagement and accessibility. It also seeks collaboration with federal and state government arts sector partners to expand the use of AI-driven cultural content across exhibitions, learning platforms, and heritage experiences.
