Sentient Layer was founded in 2026 by Kaya Rezende, following years of experience in cyber security operations across various industries. Throughout this work, a consistent challenge emerged: legacy security information and event management (SIEM) systems were struggling to keep pace with the scale and complexity of threats driven by the rapid rise of AI.
In response, Sentinent Layer was created to build an AI layer that integrates with existing SIEM platforms, enabling advanced behavioural detection on top of tools organisations already rely on.
Sentient Layer integrates with a company’s existing security tools, analysing each alert to determine whether it represents a genuine threat or harmless noise. This removes the need for analysts to manually sift through thousands of false positives. Unlike traditional security systems that rely on static rule-based detection, Sentient Layer enhances the tools organisations already use with adaptive, intelligent analysis. The platform is fast to deploy and ensures all data remains onshore in Australia.
Sentient Layer is focused on the Australian mid-market, targeting managed security service providers and mid-sized enterprises that are increasingly constrained by the costs of legacy tools and a shortage of experienced cyber security analyst. As new cyber security regulations take effect, and with further requirements expected between 2028 to 2030 and beyond, the market is rapidly expanding. Demand is expected to be strongest for solutions that deliver both compliance and clear operational value at an accessible price point.
Sentient Layer is currently seeking partnerships with managed security service providers willing to pilot the platform with their existing clients. The company is also looking to connect with government and defence organisations, where sovereign, compliance ready detection is increasingly critical.
